Sweating
Sweating is important to maintain body temperature, but if you sweat profusely then learn here are the ways to stop sweating.

Excess sweating is known as hyperhidrosis, characterized by excessive sweating on the palms, soles, and underarms and sometimes the face. Its etiology is not known, but this situation brings nervousness among teenagers and menopausal women. Use of antiperspirants also does not help. Treatment includes, minor invasive surgical procedure that targets sweat glands, as well injection of tiny amount purified botulinum in sweat gland to block the release of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, this treatment lasts up to eight months and can be repeated. 

Ayurveda says yuva avasta is the Pitta avasta so young people should  prakopakahara as spicy, hot sour food. Should wear cool and sweat absorbent cotton or Khadi cloths.

Excessive sweating all the time can even make situations embarrassing for many people. It leads to body odour. That’s why finding a solution is essential.

Sweat
Sweat is made up of mostly water but also contains mineral, electrolyte such as sodium chloride potassium, magnesium, and calcium as well as the waste product urea.

a . Eccrine glands
Eccrine glands are the most common  and are found all over the surface of the body. They are most numerous on the palms of the hand and soles of the feet.

b . Apocrine glands
Apocrine glands are common over the armpits and groin area. Sweat from the apocrine glands does not evaporate as quickly and can lead to foul body odour. Apocrine sweat is often a result of emotional stress or anxiety.

Lifestyle
  • Water : Drinking adequate amounts of water will help keep your body cool and protect you from dehydration due to excessive sweating.
  • Shower at least twice a day.
  • Apply antiperspirants around the clock to keep it under control.
  • Avoid wearing tight fitting shoes and nylon socks.
  • Avoidance of exercise
  • Do not wear tight fitting cloths specially synthetic fibers
  • Shaving the underarms.

Pranayama
Cooling Breath - Sheetali Pranayama शीतली प्राणायाम

For Summer Season

Sheetali means cool. This pranayama cools the system, hense the name.
A simple breath, perfect for a hot day or when the body is warm after practicing yoga postures.

Process :
  • Sit in a comfortable Asan - Padmasana / Sukhasana or  Vajrasana or any other, spine must be erect & body must be relaxed
  • Perform the Jnana mudra with the hands.
  • Open the mouth and form the lips into an 'O'
  • The sides and the tip of the tongue touching the teeth, , from the molars to the front teeth, should be lifted and curled up.
  • The shape of the tongue will resemble a fresh curled leaf about to open.
  • Protrude the curled tongue out of the lips. Draw in the air past the curled tongue with a sibilant sound (Sssssssss) to fill the lungs completely. The air is drawn in as if through a pipette or a drinking straw. After full inhalation withdraw the tongue and close the mouth.
  • After full inhalation, lower the head, from the nape of the neck, to the trunk.The chin should rest in the notch between the collar bones just above the breast bone.The head is now in Jalandhar bandha position.
  • Exhale slowly  with an aspirate sound (bhuuuuuuuuuuu) through the  nose as in ujjayi
  • Keep the eye gently closed.
  • Inhale deep, smooth through mouth, via rolled tongue, the air passing in should feel cool.
  • Inhale, to start for 5 counts, exhale through nose for 10 counts. Practice for 5 minutes.

  • This cools the system and soothes the eyes and ears.
  • It si beneficial in cases of low fever and biliousness.
  • It activates the liver and the spleen.

Sheetali and Shitkari Pranayama are very good practice. In both these practice inhale through mouth with tongue rolled in a specific way via the constricted mouth passage and  exhale very slowly either through nostrils or through mouth in kaki mudra.

                                       

The Hissing Breath - Sheetkari Pranayama शीतकारी प्राणायाम




Sitakari is that which causes cold. This is a variation of Sitali Pranayama.
Sheetkari Pranayama or the Hissing Breath is usually done after practicing other Asanas and Pranayama. Sheetkari Pranayama cools the body.

Process :
Sheetkari is very similar to Sheetali Pranayama. In Sheetkari, the tongue is not rolled into a tube; instead, it is rolled up to touch the upper palate. The teeth are then clenched and the lips are kept apart. Those who find it difficult to do Sheetali Pranayama can easily practice Sheetkari and get similar benefits.
  • Sit in a comfortable asana with palms on the knees.
  • Roll the tongue upwards so that the lower part of the tongue touches the upper palate.
  • Clench the teeth together. Pull the lips apart so that the teeth are exposed.
  • Breathe in slowly. First fill the abdomen, then the chest and finally the neck region. This is the complete yogic breath. When breathing in, a slight hissing sound is produced. This is similar to the hissing of a snake.
  • Bend the neck forward to do the chin lock, also called the Jalandhara Bandha
  • Hold the breath for some time, as much as you are comfortable
  • Release Jalandhara Bandha and exhale slowly through the nose.
  • This is one round of Sheetkari Pranayama. One can do as many rounds as you may feel comfortable. 
Benefit :
  • The action of pulling the air through the teeth creates a cooling effect on the body.
  • Sheetkari relaxes the body and the mind.
  • According to Hatha Yoga Pradeepika, Sheetkari removes hunger, thirst, sleep and lassitude.
  • Sheetkari is good for health of teeth and the gums.

Contraindication :
Do not do Sheetkari Pranayama if you are suffering from a cold. But if you are in a hot environment, it is ideal for cooling the body.

Diet
High-fiber foods :  Fiber-rich foods like oats and whole grains help in improving digestion. Improved digestion helps keep body temperature under control and reduce sweating.
Olive oil : Using olive oil to cook your food can also boost metabolism and digestion. Olive oil is rich in antioxidants, it prevents temperature surges and controls sweating.
Fruits : Including fruits which have high water content like apples, grapes, watermelons, pineapples, and oranges will also help in reducing your sweat levels. Additionally natural smell of citrus fruits like oranges, lemons and pineapples is absorbed by the body and will leave a fresh smell on your skin.

Vegetables
You should incorporate vegetables like celery, cucumbers, lettuce, red cabbage and spinach into your diet. These are dense with water and help regulate sweat levels.
Green Tea 
Drinking hot drinks may seem counterproductive, but green tea is rich in antioxidants and has a calming effect which helps in keeping the nervous system cool and sweating under control.

What to avoid for better body odour

Remember to stay away from caffeine and alcoholic drinks. These items act as stimulants and rev up the nervous system. Because of the heightened response of the body, there is an increase in the amount of sweat produced.

Excessasive sweating on face


Use cucumber or cucumber juice to stop your facial sweating effectively. 
Keep the cucumber in refrigerator to become cool.
Cut slices to put them on your face.
Leave it for five minutes, then remove them.
Wash your face with cool water.

Excessasive sweating on palms
                                            
Use coconut oil to stop excessasive sweating on your palms quickly.
After takin bath apply coconut oil on your palm.
Rub it until the oil get absorbed by the skin.
Leave it there throughout the day.
Wash you palm with water and apply again before going to the bed.

Excessive sweating in arms


Use lemon or lemon juice to get rid of under arm sweating overnight.
Use this repeatedly before going to the bed.
Cut a lemon into two, and remove the seeds.
Use one half lemon piece in each armpit.
Rub the cut lemon piece under each armpit and squeeze.
Its juice is applied over the skin.
Wash it with water in the morning.


Excessive sweating on feet


Use Apple Cedar Vinegar (ACV) to reduce excessasive sweating on the feet.
Apply ACV with on your feet 2-3 times a day.
Add a drop of ACV 10 drops in water in tub.
Soak your feet in diluted ACV water for 15 minutes.
Deodorant NO, Antiperspirant YES.

Antiperspirant aims to bring about a temperory decrease in sweat production in axilla.

  • Antiperspirants are products designed to reduce sweat or perspiration on the skin. They are available in many formulations including creams, powders, sprays,
  • Emollients
  • Tab levamisole 150mg on two consecutive days in a week for four months combined with topical steroids.
  • Anhydrous lanolin ointment facilitates flow of sweats. 
  • Tacrolimus ointment for face and neck.
  • Iontophoresis
  • Glutaraldehyde 10%
  • Formaldehyde 2%
  • Planter
  • For Men Hair removal is an option, but alternative is injection of small amount of Botox into underarm area. Effect can last up to ten months.
  • For Woman Laser hair removal underarm area and bikini hair area are good areas to tackle.
  • Soak feet in 2% glutaraldehyde for 10 minutes for two weeks.
  • Clotrimazole powder powder every morning
  • Immersion of soles of feet in 20 % solution of Ammonium chloride once a day.
  • Nycil Powder
  • Vitamin C 500 mg twice a day.
  • Antihistamines to prevent scratching
  • Botox treatment
