Bee String
Bee Sting
Very common, more than one million cases per year in India. Usually self treatable. Usually self diagnosable. Lab test or imaging not required. Short term resolves within days to week.
Introduction
An injury caused by a bee's venom.
Allergic reactions to bee stings are typically more severe in adults than in children.
In many cases, there's only pain and swelling at the sting site. In rare cases, a life-threatening allergic reaction can cause difficulty breathing, tongue swelling, nausea and unconsciousness. This may require emergency medical attention.
For mild to moderate reactions, treatment involves removing the stinger, washing the area with soap and water, and applying cold compresses or ice. Creams to the affected area can help reduce discomfort. Severe reactions may need adrenaline.
