All skin types, oily dry or in combination can suffer from dehydration. Dehydrated skin leads to breakouts, acne, dryness, rashes. cracked skin, inflammation, itching and increased skin sensitivity.
Introduction

Cause
- This occurs when a person losses more water than they take.
- Use humidifier in winter as Room heater in causes dryness.
- Air conditioners in summer also causes dryness
- Winter season can cause dryness.
- Bathing for a longer time.
- Medication.
What is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?
It's important to note that having dehydrated skin is not the same as having dry skin. The natural oils in the skin are relatively less. In dehydrated skin, however there is insufficient water content.
What are some tell tail signs of dehydrated skin?
General dryness :
Apart from dry skin, dehydrated skin also involves symptoms such as Dry eyes,, mouth, lips as well. There could also be patches and scaly lesions with or without itching.
Dullness :
If your complexion looks dull, uneven and tired. It may be a result of dehydrated skin.
Dark circles and wrinkles can be seen along with sunken eyes. There will also be more fine lines and wrinkles :
When your body is not properly hydrated, dark under circles which means the skin has become less elastic.
Itching :
There is very common symptom of dehydrated skin. If you are experiencing patches scaly and itchy skin, that clearly means your skin is lacking moisture and hydration.
What are some of the side effects of dehydrated skin.?
Breakout or Acne :
Dehydrated skin increases the likelihood of enlarged pores, allowing acne causing germs to penetrate deeper into your skin.
Increased skin sensitivity:
Dry skin is typically not dangerous, But if it is neglected, it can lead to skin skin dehydration., Which can in turn cause redness, rashes, cracked skin, inflammation, discomfort and itching.
Congestion :
Dried skin cells, sweat, pollutants and sebum accumulates in the pores causing congestion.
How to hydrate your skin ?
Drink Water :
To keep your skin hydrated, an adequate amount of water intake is a must . Preferably one should drink at least three four glasses of lukewarm water in the morning to start the day with a dose of hydration.
Antioxidants :
Consume an adequate amount of fresh fruits and vegetables with anti oxidants as part of your diet. This will keep your skin soft and supple.

Facial oils :
If your skin tends to get dry often, you should apply facial oil before and after bath to keep it moisturized. Coconut oil or Aloe vera is also good.
Keep your bath short
Proper bathing is essential to avoid dry skin. But do not spend a long time in the shower as it may strip your skin of moisture. Taking a quick bath with lukewarm water will be helpful.
Skin Care :
Use a gentle face cleanser. Do not forget to apply a good amount of moisturizer, especially immediately after bath. This is to regular hydration to keep the skin supple. Follow it up with a broad spectrum sunscreen.
